317 Manifold Valves of Stainless Steel are made of iron, nickel (11-15%), molybdenum (3-4%), chromium (18-20%), and trace contents of carbon, manganese, and silicon. This high content of molybdenum supports improved corrosion properties in acid environments as well as environments rich with chloride. Its tensile strength is about 620 MPa, yield strength of 275 MPa, and elongation of 35%. Physically, it is 8.0 g/cm³ dense, has a melting point between 1370-1400°C, and possesses a superior thermal conductivity, making it even ideal for demanding uses.
